Free to be vicarious

Disclaimer: It’s the weekend. Weekends are busy! So starting today every Saturday & Sunday post in October will be short and sweet!

Free to be vicarious

VICARIOUS: experienced or felt by watching, hearing about, or reading about someone else rather than by doing something yourself.

As we brought children into this world we also gave ourselves permission to be vicarious. We get to experience some great joys in life and opportunities that we didn’t have when we were kids through our very own children.

I never played soccer, my husband never played soccer. But our kids LOVE soccer so WE LOVE SOCCER! What a joy it has been to live vicariously through our children as we watch them on the pitch (that’s field in soccer language).

It’s not just soccer, there are many other ways that we experience joy in life through those four amazing children. But for 6 weeks every fall and spring we spend our Saturdays hunting for shin guards, filling water bottles, kicking around a soccer ball and just loving life on the pitch!

About believingjoy

Who am I? That's a good question! I am Jen...a blemished woman who enjoys a tidbit of tidyness mixed with dash of craziness to create a life that is simply mine! I adore my 4 children and their daddy. I love little bits of wild like tattoos and things that make us unique. I like to mix vintage with new and strive for progress over perfection! I believe that not a single person on this planet is perfect and that's okay, it's what makes us who we are. My desire is to find joy is all circumstances with a smile and a choice to believe.
