Free to worship

We attend First Congregational Church in Parkersburg. It’s a pretty great church in a pretty great community. And because our community happens to be in the US we are free to worship however we so choose. I choose to worship God and only God. My favorite way to worship him is through music. I don’t sing well and I don’t play instruments, but I also don’t care and I don’t think he does either. If I feel moved to sing or dance I do it (even if my kids ask me to stop because I am embarrassing them)!

It’s no doubt that we take this freedom for granted. I can’t imagine living in a country where we could be imprisoned or even killed for worshiping. It hurts my heart to think about it. Oh how blessed we are!

Today I am just going to give a simple challenge. If you too experience the freedom to worship do it! Be brave, if you don’t currently attend a church, find one and go. Sing, praise God for the freedoms you have. Pray…for whatever comes to your mind. There is no right or wrong way to worship God, whatever makes you comfortable, whatever opens your soul to Him, whatever moves you…do it and be free in worship!

About believingjoy

Who am I? That's a good question! I am Jen...a blemished woman who enjoys a tidbit of tidyness mixed with dash of craziness to create a life that is simply mine! I adore my 4 children and their daddy. I love little bits of wild like tattoos and things that make us unique. I like to mix vintage with new and strive for progress over perfection! I believe that not a single person on this planet is perfect and that's okay, it's what makes us who we are. My desire is to find joy is all circumstances with a smile and a choice to believe.
