I believe in the 5 Love Languages. At our house we try to love each other they way each person feels loved the most. It’s amazing how well we give and receive love when it’s done in a way that truly means something to the receiver.
Sometimes though we forget and we love others with our own love language. I happen to have high scores in 4 of the 5 languages, so it’s not hard to reach me. But the two that stand out the most to me are Receiving Gifts and Acts of Service. I really think in my case these two should be combined to Gift of Service, because those are the gifts that mean the most to me. Anything handmade tugs at my heart and anything that makes my load lighter brightens my day. I often do these types of things for my family because giving of myself is very freeing and even if they don’t share that love language, they don’t usually turn a way a gift of an act of service.
If you don’t know your love language or the love language of your spouse or children. I would encourage you to click the link above and find out. Learn to give love in a way that truly means something to the receiver. Be free to love, it’s good.
