Free to give

Yesterday I shared how terrible I am at receiving. On a scale of 1 to 10 I am going to give myself a 6 for giving.

I like to give. I think I get more excited about birthday and Christmas gifts then the people I am giving them to do. When it comes to my time or my finances I am a little bit more selfish. I give in these areas, don’t get me wrong, but ask much or as often as I should?

Giving back the gifts that God has given us shouldn’t be so hard. After all, he gave them freely, we should do the same.

Today I am going to think hard about all that I have freely received and I am going to challenge my self to give more freely. Not just gifts or time or money, but virtues like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, self control, grace, mercy, forgiveness. I am going to give with my heart, because I can give gifts and time and money easily, but if I don’t give anything with my heart what good does it do.

“Freely you have received, freely GIVE!” Matthew 10:8

About believingjoy

Who am I? That's a good question! I am Jen...a blemished woman who enjoys a tidbit of tidyness mixed with dash of craziness to create a life that is simply mine! I adore my 4 children and their daddy. I love little bits of wild like tattoos and things that make us unique. I like to mix vintage with new and strive for progress over perfection! I believe that not a single person on this planet is perfect and that's okay, it's what makes us who we are. My desire is to find joy is all circumstances with a smile and a choice to believe.
