Free to fight

This post is dedicated an amazing woman I know that is facing a battle and to all those out there who are fighting the good fight.

We have to fight for the right to…….LIVE!

Fight, Fight, Fight for…….VICTORY!

The word fight gets a bad rap. Most people think that fighting is only a negative thing. Unfortunately it can be. But what if it isn’t. What if fighting meant something else.

The dictionary says fighting is not just using physical force to hurt someone, that’s only one definition. Fighting is also defined as defeating an enemy (the enemy), to struggle in battle (not just physical), to argue (for or against), to attempt to prevent the success of.

We fight in our marriages because we are passionate about them. My daughter asked me last night why do her dad and I even fight at all, even over small stuff? My answer was we fight because God created each of us differently, we view things differently and fighting isn’t always bad, sometimes we call it fighting, but what we are really doing is just putting forth our passion, sharing another side of a situation. Striving for more from each other, from ourselves.

We fight with our children and for our children because we want to desperately prevent them from doing or saying things we know are not good for them.

We fight because we care.

In this world we will have battles. Battles of war. We have men and women fighting for our country every. single. day. They fight because they care, they fight for us.

We fight with our hands, our weapons, our words….and with our SPIRIT!

We may not win every fight, but do not give up. Brush yourself off, get up and fight on. We defeat the enemy when we push him aside and keep moving forward. We struggle, but our struggles make us stronger, we argue with passion, we won’t settle for mediocre, we strive for progress. We do everything we can to prevent the success of whatever we are battling.  Because we were made for more!

We are free to fight, not for the things that cause pain, but the good fight. The fight that makes us stronger, wiser. The fight that fills our spirit.

Fight on my friend, fight on!

About believingjoy

Who am I? That's a good question! I am Jen...a blemished woman who enjoys a tidbit of tidyness mixed with dash of craziness to create a life that is simply mine! I adore my 4 children and their daddy. I love little bits of wild like tattoos and things that make us unique. I like to mix vintage with new and strive for progress over perfection! I believe that not a single person on this planet is perfect and that's okay, it's what makes us who we are. My desire is to find joy is all circumstances with a smile and a choice to believe.
