Psalm 20 (NLT)

In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry.
May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm.
May he send you help from his sanctuary
    and strengthen you from Jerusalem.[a]
May he remember all your gifts
and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Interlude

May he grant your heart’s desires
and make all your plans succeed.
May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory
and raise a victory banner in the name of our God.
May the Lord answer all your prayers.

Now I know that the Lord rescues his anointed king.
He will answer him from his holy heaven
and rescue him by his great power.
Some nations boast of their chariots and horses,
but we boast in the name of the Lord our God.
Those nations will fall down and collapse,
but we will rise up and stand firm.

Give victory to our king, O Lord!
    Answer our cry for help.

I came across this gem of a passage the other day when I was actually looking for something else. It stopped me in my tracks. This passage could not better describe the victory we have experienced in our home over the past year.

Let me break it down….

2014 began with trouble, a major crisis in our home. But God had bigger plans. He sent help from his sanctuary. We had to offer up a LOT of prayers. We chose to face some tough stuff and deal with some deep issues. Some of which we are still working through. But we have seen victory. We are rising up and standing firm. God is our victor, HE ANSWERED OUR CRY FOR HELP!

You have no idea how good it feels to be on the healing side of the crisis. To know that the worst of it is behind us and a future filled with hope, peace and joy awaits us. We want others, maybe you, to experience this victory. I am not going to lie, to get to where this passage touches you in a way that makes your heart skip a beat, you have to be vulnerable. Whatever it is that is causing you to stumble, causing you to lose hope, causing you to cry yourself to sleep…stop trying to push it away or cover it up. Be real and deal with it.

We have been blessed to be able to share our story lately and offer hope. That’s all we can do is give God the glory and offer hope.  Even if its just offering a listening hear or an encouraging word. So my challenge to you today is to reach for victory, reach out to someone and let God show up for you. Some nations boast of their chariots and horses,
but we boast in the name of the Lord our God.

About believingjoy

Who am I? That's a good question! I am Jen...a blemished woman who enjoys a tidbit of tidyness mixed with dash of craziness to create a life that is simply mine! I adore my 4 children and their daddy. I love little bits of wild like tattoos and things that make us unique. I like to mix vintage with new and strive for progress over perfection! I believe that not a single person on this planet is perfect and that's okay, it's what makes us who we are. My desire is to find joy is all circumstances with a smile and a choice to believe.
